Oshogbo is located about 4 hour’s drive from Lagos. It is home of Oxun shrine a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a famous Yoruba cultural center. The best time to visit Oshogbo is during the annual Oxun festival in late August when the city is alive with festivities.
ILE-IFE, the ancient traditional religion center is believed to be the cradle of creation and origin of civilization among the Yoruba people of southwest Nigeria. Visit the museum with a fine collection of Ife art, Oni’s (king) palace, Obafemi Awolowo University campus, historical sites –Opa Oranyan shrine, Ifa temple dedicated to Orixha worship etc.
